Our partner is a young 8-person indie studio founded by gaming industry veterans. Their mission is to redefine how adult players (30+) experience entertainment in asynchronous MMORPGs – without sacrificing social depth or complexity, even in the face of real-life time constraints.They are looking for a Technical 3D Artist to join the team working on their flagship project.
About the Project
Dominus Automa is an asynchronous MMORPG where your hero follows your commands – even when you’re logged out. Through LLM-based communication, you can talk to and command your character directly from popular messaging apps like WhatsApp or Telegram. Think of it as a modern Tamagotchi, built for serious RPG players.
The game targets busy adult aRPG/MMO/IDLE players who want depth and social experience without being chained to a screen. Your hero lives in an open world, autonomously hunting, crafting, and gathering 24/7 – while you carry on with your life. Your character even develops a unique personality shaped by in-game experiences, reflected in how they communicate with you.
Whom are we looking for – Technical 3D Artist
You feel the flow of the genre, understand the target audience, and know how to set your own priorities from a player’s perspective. Bonus points if you’ve lost sleep over a private Lineage 2 server at some point in your life.
Technical 3D Artist – Key Responsibilities
- Lighting and post-processing in Unity
- Shaders and materials development
- VFX and particle systems
- Environmental and weather effects
- Performance optimization
- Close collaboration with the art and engineering teams
Technical 3D Artist – Main Requirements
- Several years of experience in 3D game art (RPG/MMO background preferred)
- Strong portfolio of stylistically consistent, visually polished work
- At least one commercial game shipped
- Hands-on experience with 3D, top-down, low poly aesthetics
- Proficiency in Unity
- Solid command of: Photoshop, Blender/Maya, Figma, Trello, Miro, Notion
- Strong self-organization – you deliver without constant supervision
- Ability to estimate tasks realistically and hit deadlines
- MMORPG player background – you genuinely understand what players care about
- Good sense of humor, easy communication, and a relaxed attitude
Nice to Have
- You’re always looking for ways to improve your own workflows and processes;
- Familiarity with Agile and sprint-based development;
- Hands-on experience (as a player or tinkerer) with games like Lineage 2, ArcheAge, World of Warcraft, Albion Online, Tibia, or Metin – private server experience is a genuine plus;
- You have a meme ready for every occasion and aren’t afraid to use it.
What’s in it for You
- Salary: 6,000 – 10,000 PLN net (depending on contract type);
- Contract: B2B / UoZ / UoD;
- Duration: 2-month contract starting mid-June, with strong potential for extension;
- 100% remote work via Discord, with occasional in-person meetups in Kraków;
