Whom are we looking for – Staff Software Engineer
Location: Poland (Remote), Kraków preferred
Brief company and team description
The Data Platform team owns the data infrastructure that makes the company work – connecting its platform to the HRIS, EMS, ATS, and partner systems that power our customers’ compensation workflows. Without reliable, high-quality integrations, none of company’s products can deliver their full value. This is a high-leverage role at the core of company’s platform strategy. This is also a rare opportunity to join as a founding engineer on the team – meaning you won’t just be executing on a defined roadmap, but actively shaping how the platform evolves, what gets prioritized, and what engineering culture looks like from day one. As a Staff Software Engineer on the Data Platform team, you will set the technical direction for how company builds, scales, and operates its integrations infrastructure. You’ll have a direct line from your architectural decisions to product capabilities and customer outcomes.
Why is it worth joining this company?
- Founding Engineer Opportunity — You’re not inheriting someone else’s code or culture. You help define the technical architecture, engineering patterns, and quality standards the team will build on as it scales.
- Full-Cycle Product Ownership — Kraków is a standalone business unit dealing with real product problems end-to-end, not just feature delivery.
- Meaningful AI Work — Build compensation intelligence features powered by ML predictions and AI agents that surface pay risks before they become retention problems.
- No Micromanagement — The leadership philosophy is built on trust, autonomy, and accountability. Proactive, self-sufficient engineers thrive here.
- Enterprise-Scale Impact — Your work will serve organizations with 150,000+ employees, including globally recognized companies across tech, retail, and finance.
- Democratic, Growth-Oriented Culture — Leadership is genuinely invested in developing the team. Decisions are made collaboratively, and growth is realistic — not a checkbox.
Staff Software Engineer – Key Responsibilities
- Design and build new HRIS, EMS, ATS, and partner integrations, with a focus on enterprise-grade systems like Workday, BambooHR, and ADP
- Own integrations end-to-end – from connector design and data mapping through testing, rollout, and ongoing reliability
- Build and improve observability tooling – monitoring, alerting, and debugging infrastructure that gives the team and customers confidence in pipeline health
- Partner closely with product and go-to-market to prioritize connector coverage and unblock key deals
- Identify and address systemic reliability and scalability issues in company’s data platform
Staff Software Engineer – Main requirements
- 5+ years of experience building and shipping production-grade software, with meaningful exposure to integrations, data pipelines, or API platforms
- Experience with our tech stack: TypeScript, Node.js, React, GCP
- Strong understanding of integration patterns, API design, and the operational challenges of third-party data dependencies
- Experience working on enterprise B2B products and an understanding of the reliability and data quality standards they require
- Ability to lead technical projects with ambiguity — third-party APIs are rarely well-documented and requirements shift
- Execution oriented — eager to not only design solutions but dive into implementation and see them through to a reliable, monitored production state
- Strong upper-Intermediate level of English or higher. You’ll collaborate with teams in San Francisco and New York; quick, efficient async communication matters
Staff Software Engineer – What is in it for you?
- Competitive B2B contract: 35,500 – 42,000 PLN net/month
- Benefits budget: 1,400 PLN/month on B2B – yours to allocate freely across private healthcare, MultiSport, wellness, education, retirement contributions, life & disability insurance
- Unlimited vacations + flexible sick leave – no one’s counting days
- Equity package!
- Work from anywhere for a full month each year
- Top-of-the-line hardware from day one
- Real influence – not just of code, but of direction, architecture, and culture
The Next Step for you:
If you’re a senior full-stack engineer who values ownership over instruction, wants to build something from scratch alongside people who take the work seriously, and is excited about the intersection of compensation, AI, and enterprise product – we’d love to hear from you. Apply via the contact form below. We look forward to meeting you.
