Our client is a multinational technology company with strong operations in the HRTech – background screening and risk management industry, helping global organizations verify candidates’ employment history, education, identity, driving records, and financial background. They are now expanding their Quality Engineering division and seeking an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer / Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join their Katowice team.

Brief position description
This role combines strong software development fundamentals with advanced test automation experience. You will design, build, and optimize automation frameworks, drive quality initiatives across the SDLC, and collaborate closely with Developers, BAs, DevOps, and Product to ensure delivery of highly reliable, scalable, and secure HRTech solutions. You’ll be a key contributor to continuous improvement, test strategy, automation architecture, and mentorship of the QA team.

Senior QA Automation Engineer – Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and reusable automation tests
- Create, enhance, and execute automated tests for functional, regression, performance, and load testing.
- Monitor and maintain automated testing.
- Ensure that coding standards and best practices are being met.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues with the automated tests.
- Integrate automated test suites into continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Improve existing testing automation or design more efficient testing.
- Ensure automation coverage for new and existing features.
- Collaborate with software developers, QA engineers, product owners, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and define testing strategies.
- Act as a subject matter expert in application functionality
- Provide technical leadership and mentor other Test Automation Engineers
Senior QA Automation Engineer – Main requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Development/SQA role and minimum 3 years of experience with web service testing and web service testing tools.
- Experience with Selenium-like automation testing frameworks and automation testing of Web-applications.
- Experience with QA processes and methodologies (automated and manual test processes, black/white box testing, load and performance testing, test case design, scripting and execution, automated test tools).
- Experience with functional testing of multi-tier Web applications.
- Experience working with QA tools and techniques, bug tracking systems, test design and execution.
- Knowledge of programming languages (Java, JavaScript).
- Comprehensive SQL, XML and JSON knowledge.
- A Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science or related engineering field, or equivalent work
- ISTQB or similar certification.
