Itentio IT Recruitment
We are partnered with a fully remote data infrastructure startup operating at genuine global scale. They build and operate one of the world’s largest residential proxy networks, alongside managed APIs for large-scale web scraping and AI-powered automation tools for data collection and processing. Their Monetization SDK powers millions of users across desktop, mobile, and smart TV platforms worldwide – enabling app developers to offer users an alternative to ads or paywalls by sharing small amounts of unused computing resources. Backed by serial entrepreneurs with a track record of multiple venture-backed exits, they are now looking for a Senior Go Developer to join their core proxy and infrastructure team, fully remote from Poland or the EU.
Whom are we looking for – Senior Go Developer
Location: Poland or EU, remote work mode
Brief position description
This is not a typical backend role of Senior Go Developer. You will be working deep in the infrastructure that powers a global proxy network — millions of nodes, billions of requests, and petabytes of traffic. The challenges here live at the intersection of systems programming, network engineering, and high-concurrency Go: diagnosing performance issues across the full stack from application code to Linux kernel, building services that operate reliably under extreme load, and owning the observability that makes it all visible. If you are the kind of engineer who finds out how much performance you can actually pull out of a single Linux box, and wants to do that at a scale most engineers never encounter, this is the role.
Why is it worth joining this company?
- Technically rare challenges. Operating a global proxy network at scale means working with high-concurrency Go services and Linux performance at every layer of the stack. The problems here are not typical backend problems.
- Real ownership in a remote-first culture. This is a small, flat engineering team. There is no micromanagement and no bureaucracy – only strong ownership, async-first communication, and a genuine focus on results over presence.
- AI-forward by default. The team are early adopters and active users of LLMs and modern AI tooling – both in how they build and in what they ship. Agentic coding tools are part of the daily workflow, not a future aspiration.
- Proven foundation, startup velocity. Serial entrepreneurs with multiple venture-backed exits, backed by strong market traction – the kind of company where your work reaches production immediately and the decisions you make matter.
Senior Go Developer – Key Responsibilities
- Build, evolve, and operate the Go services that power the company’s global proxy network.
- Diagnose and resolve performance issues across the full stack: application code, Go runtime, Linux kernel, and network layer.
- Design and implement new functionality on the proxy backend with a focus on reliability and predictable performance under load.
- Define and own key reliability and performance metrics; build the observability needed to track them.
- Contribute to capacity planning, deployment strategy, and on-call practices for the proxy fleet.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across SDK, backend, data, and product to improve system performance and reliability end-to-end.
Senior Go Developer – Main requirements
- 7+ years of experience with systems programming and network programming.
- 3+ years of Go, including building and operating high-concurrency services in production (tens of thousands of concurrent connections or more).
- Active user of Agentic coding tools.
- Strong working knowledge of Linux: process model, syscalls, networking stack, and performance fundamentals.
- Solid understanding of IP, TCP, and UDP protocols, including how they behave under load.
- Comfortable profiling, tracing, and debugging Go services in production (pprof, runtime metrics, goroutine and heap analysis).
- Strong communication skills and ability to take ownership.
- Self-directed and comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment.
Bonus Points
- Hands-on Linux kernel and network performance tuning: sysctl, NIC ring buffers, IRQ affinity, NUMA, BBR, NAPI.
- Familiarity with high-throughput NICs and offload features — Mellanox/Intel, RSS, GRO/GSO, XDP/eBPF.
- Experience operating WebSocket-based services at scale.
- Experience with observability stacks: OpenTelemetry, Prometheus/VictoriaMetrics, ClickHouse.
- AWS experience: Lambda, Route 53, IAM, EC2 fleets.
- Experience with zero-downtime deployments for stateful or long-lived connection services.
- Production on-call experience and incident response practice.
- Command of C, C++, or Rust for systems-level work.
Senior Go Engineer – What is in it for you?
- Competitive salary: $5,700-$8,000/month on B2B contract
- Equity incentive!
- Performance bonus: Up to 30% annual bonus, awarded in May based on company results and individual impact (eligible after 6 months working in the company).
- Fully Remote Setup – Work from anywhere in the EU time zone.
- Unlimited vacation and sick days (2 weeks’ notice).
- Continuous Learning Allowance ($50/month) – Courses, books, or workshops covered.
- Health & Wellness ($50/month) – For gym, fitness, or self-care.
- Health Insurance – Provided internationally.
- Access to the latest AI and agentic development tools as standard.
- A small, high-performing, low-process engineering team where your work reaches production fast and your technical opinions are heard.
The Next Step for you:
If you are ready to push the limits of global proxy infrastructure and work on systems-level Go challenges at a scale most engineers never encounter, we would like to hear from you. Please apply via the contact form below.
