We are partnered with a rapidly growing, well-funded AI-native startup building the next generation of proactive smart assistants for everyday users. Their mission is to fundamentally change how people communicate and get things done – starting by reimagining everyday workflows like email, tasks, and notes to slash the time spent on them by over 90%. Due to continued product expansion and global traction, they are expanding their engineering team and looking for a Senior iOS Engineer to take ownership of the mobile client experience and help shape how AI feels, behaves, and performs in users’ hands.

About the Company and the Position
Our client is building a high-reliability, AI-first application focused on long-running workflows, persistent context, and real-world task completion. The system handles multi-step reasoning, interacts with external tools, and remains robust despite non-deterministic model behavior. We are looking for a Senior iOS Engineer who will own the iOS client experience end-to-end. This is not a thin integration role. You will build a production-grade iOS application where AI interactions are central to the product experience — and where performance, reliability, and user trust are paramount.

Senior iOS Engineer – Key Responsibilities
- Build and scale production apps: Develop and maintain robust iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI, ensuring high performance and reliability.
- Integrate AI-powered features: Seamlessly connect backend AI capabilities into the mobile experience through backend APIs.
- Design AI-native UX patterns: Craft intuitive interfaces for loading states, streaming responses, retries, fallbacks, and permission-based AI actions.
- Optimize performance: Profile and optimize memory usage, battery efficiency, and responsiveness for AI-heavy, latency-sensitive flows.
- Ensure reliability and observability: Capture user signals and feedback to support AI evaluation and iteration; detect production issues early with clear root-cause analysis.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with backend and ML engineers to define API contracts, system behavior, and gracefully handle non-deterministic edge cases.
- Maintain App Store quality: Uphold high standards of stability, reliability, and production quality across all releases.
Senior iOS Engineer – Main requirements
- iOS expertise: 5+ years of professional iOS development experience using Swift.
- AI/ML integration: Hands-on experience integrating AI-powered features into mobile applications.
- Asynchronous mastery: Strong understanding of async/await, concurrency, and background tasks.
- Performance & debugging: Solid iOS performance and memory optimization skills; comfort building in environments with latency, partial failures, and non-deterministic behavior.
- Production track record: Experience shipping and maintaining production-ready iOS apps on the App Store.
- AI UX intuition: Strong sense for AI UX patterns, user trust considerations, and designing for uncertainty.
- Familiarity with: CoreML or light on-device ML; feature flags or remote configuration systems.
- Quality over credentials: We hire for quality technical work, engineering judgment, and ownership — not Ivy League degrees, Big Tech pedigree, age, or fancy writing.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively in a remote, high-trust, fast-paced environment.
