Itentio IT Recruitment
We are partnered with a rapidly growing UK-based fintech company building next-generation digital solutions for trade and supply chain finance. Their mission is to close the global trade finance gap by enabling mid-market businesses in emerging markets to access transparent, secure, and efficient cross-border funding. They are now seeking a Business Analyst to bridge business needs, banking partners, and engineering.
Whom are we looking for – Release Specialist
Location: Remote (Europe)
About the Company and the Position
Our client is a UK-based fintech company working at the core of open account trade finance and SCF. They build a platform that lets banks and NBFIs manage multiple financing products in one system, automate manual and repetitive processes, and design custom products and workflows for their own clients. Alongside the technology, they provide capital and domain expertise, so they work closely with financial institutions, corporates, and funders across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and other emerging markets.
As Release Specialist, you will keep release scope, versions and deployment status clear across the company’s banking clients. You’ll coordinate Product, Engineering, QA, Customer Success and L2 Support, and track releases across SaaS, PaaS and on-premise environments. Some clients deploy with the company’s support; others manage deployments themselves. This is a hands-on coordination role: you’ll work with technical teams to operate and improve the release process while keeping client-specific release information accurate and accessible.
Why is it worth joining this company?
- Work on a real product powering high-value cross-border financial operations, with real influence on product decisions
- Startup pace with a clear mission and strong market traction
- A culture that values curiosity, ownership, and autonomy
- Competitive compensation and long-term development opportunities
Release Specialist – Key Responsibilities
- Maintain release scope in Jira, keeping tickets from Engineering, Product, Customer Success and L2 Support aligned with the right sprint and release version.
- Compare Jira scope with release branches, flagging items that are missing, out of scope or incomplete after cut-off, and following up with the responsible leads.
- Track delivery risks and slippage, explain what is changing and why, and keep stakeholders informed.
- Maintain version history and records of the versions and features deployed for each client and environment.
- Coordinate release candidates, deployment schedules, go/no-go checks and post-deployment verification with Engineering, QA, DevOps, Product and Customer Success.
- Confirm that deployments report the expected application version, build and database schema. Ensure smoke and regression checks run and escalate failures before promotion.
- Record client-specific feature exclusions so that release scope, upgrade plans and notes reflect what each client has.
- Track client maintenance windows, approval lead times and UAT duration, then plan release milestones around target deployment dates.
- Coordinate deployments around client change approvals, supporting client-led deployments and working with DevOps on company-led deployments.
- Keep upgrade information complete, including database migrations, configuration or infrastructure changes, feature flags, breaking changes, manual steps and required intermediate versions.
- Prepare client-specific upgrade plans and coordinate DevOps tasks or deployment guides for clients who manage their own deployments.
- Produce release notes, deployment guides and internal change logs from tickets marked Ready to Release, using the required client-facing information and excluding features a client does not have.
- Keep clients informed about agreed release dates and raise timeline risks with Customer Success.
- Lead release readiness reviews and document decisions, risks, owners and follow-up actions.
Release Specialist – What You Will Bring
- Some experience in release management, delivery, or technical project management for a B2B software product
- Strong command of Jira (sprints, fix versions, release tracking) and Confluence
- CI/CD experience: you can read and change pipeline workflows (e.g. GitHub Actions) and have automated parts of a release process yourself
- Solid understanding of branching strategies, semantic versioning, environment promotion and feature flags
- Understanding of backward-compatible database migrations and what makes an upgrade path safe
- Highly organised, with a habit of documenting clearly and keeping records current
- Confident communicating with both technical teams and client stakeholders in English
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience in banking, fintech or other regulated environments with formal change approval
- Familiarity with on-premise deployments and client-managed infrastructure
- Exposure to GitHub Actions and AWS
Release Specialist – What is in it for you?
- Competitive salary: 2000 – 3000 EUR/month on B2B contract.
- 30 days of paid vacations per year.
- Unlimited paid sick leave (used responsibly).
- Flexible working hours.
- 100% remote setup.
- Budget for courses, conferences, and self-development.
- Opportunity to receive work devices if needed.
