Our partner is a company offering digital solutions that help governments manage and improve their services. We’re looking for a Project Manager to join a long-term international project (4 years total duration) for the EU’s operational arm for border security – an organization that supports and coordinates national agencies in safeguarding the European Union’s external frontiers while upholding European values and fundamental rights.

Whom are we looking for – Project Manager

Location: Warsaw, Poland, Near-site work mode (mostly remote, with occasional visits to the office)

Brief position description

As a Project Manager, you will oversee the full lifecycle of a medium-to-large ICT project, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives. The role covers project control, stakeholder management, risk and issue tracking, team leadership, communication, and production of key project artefacts. To succeed, you’ll bring 8+ years in IT, strong project leadership experience, deep understanding of modern technologies, excellent communication skills, and at least one major project management certification. Experience with EU institutions, information security, data privacy assessments, and conflict resolution will be considered a strong advantage.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to a high-impact digital transformation project that strengthens EU border security and operational efficiency. You’ll join a stable, long-term initiative (initial 12-month B2B contract with up to three renewals) and collaborate with international teams within a well-structured EU governance environment. The position follows a flexible near-site model – primarily remote, with the ability to work on-site in Warsaw when needed, making it a great fit for experienced professionals seeking both purpose and work-life balance.

Project Manager – Key responsibilities

  • Manages effectively and efficiently the project within its complete lifecycle and scope.
  • Establishes and manages project controls in order to ensure that the milestones are met and project products delivered on time and within scope and the business goals are enabled
  • Assures and controls quality of the project deliverables
  • Identifies, tracks, monitors and communicates project-related issues, scope changes, variances and contingencies that may arise during the implementation of the project
  • Liaise with Project Board and other key stakeholders
  • Assigns and controls the tasks, authorizes work packages, balances priorities and workload in the team, motivates project team members
  • Plans and controls project products delivery processes
  • Manages effective communication within the project and with external environment of the project
  • Produces project management products (like plans, logs, schedules). Defines the responsibilities of parties involved in the project
  • Prepares and presents oral and written technical reports and project presentations
  • Organizes and conducts project meetings

Project Manager – Main requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in IT industry, including 5+ years as a Project Manager.
  • Experience in leading at least 1 medium-large ICT project as a PM.
  • Knowledge and experience in applying of project management, Agile methodologies and methods.
  • Thorough understanding of IT and its application to business needs.
  • Understanding of with current technologies and trends relevant to the project.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to produce high quality written material and presentations for a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to work in changing environment, in a variety of situations, seeking improvements and proactively looks to further improvements.
    Strong problem-solving skills, leadership, ability to work effectively with colleagues, managers and suppliers.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in ICT.
  • English level: minimum C1, confirmed by certificate (including free online certificate).
  • Certifications (at least one): PRINCE2 Practitioner / Project Management Professional (PMP) / PM2 Essential / PM2 Advanced or an equivalent certification recognized internationally (subject to acceptance as a valid credential by the client).

Nice to have

  • Knowledge/experience in the area of Data Privacy, Data Protection Impact Assessments, Business Continuity, and Information Security Risk Assessment in the environment of EU Institutions, understands its challenges and methods for conducting effective analysis/assessment in those areas.
  • Excellent conflict management and resolution skills.
  • Experience working for/at the public sector, preferably in International organisations or EU Institutions.
