Whom are we looking for – Developer Experience Engineer
Location: Kraków / Remote (Poland-based)
About the Company
Our client is a UK-based fintech company specializing in digital solutions for trade and supply chain finance. Their mission is to close the global trade finance gap for mid-market businesses in emerging markets – making cross-border funding more accessible, efficient, and transparent. As an emerging leader driving digital transformation in trade finance, the company develops innovative platforms that empower businesses to grow and participate in global trade with confidence.
You’ll join a small, fast-moving engineering team focused on improving the developer platform — creating the tools, workflows, and automation that make product engineers more productive. Expect a mix of development, cloud operations, and internal tooling — with plenty of freedom to experiment, use AI tools (Claude, Cursor, etc.), and learn from senior engineers.
Why is it worth joining this company?
- Fast career progression – grow from junior+ to mid-level and even up to a Lead with mentorship and hands-on projects.
- Exposure to cutting-edge cloud, coding, and DevOps practices.
- International impact – potential to join internationally developed teams working with clients globally.
- Competitive salary with room for steady growth.
Developer Experience Engineer – Key Responsibilities
- Own the developer platform: Design and evolve paved roads for service creation, testing, and release (templates, CLIs, workflows, docs).
- Improve inner-loop productivity: Cut build/test times, optimize local dev (containers, emulators, seed data), and standardize tooling.
- Define API experience: Establish guidelines and tooling for OpenAPI/GraphQL, SDK generation, versioning, and deprecation policy.
- API automation: Build and maintain automated API tests (contract, e2e, smoke) and integrate them into the delivery workflow.
- Investigate issues on AWS: Triage and resolve production and staging issues across AWS services (e.g., IAM, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS), including log/metric analysis and rollback/runbook execution.
- Internal tools creation: Ship lightweight internal apps/CLIs/IDE extensions that remove toil (e.g., repo bootstrapper, secrets helper, service catalog integrations).
- Documentation excellence: Drive a consistent docs style guide; make docs part of the product with linting and CI checks.
Developer Experience Engineer – Main requirements
- 1.5+ years of professional experience in software development or platform engineering.
- Solid understanding of TypeScript/Node.js, Python, or JVM-based languages.
- Experience with REST APIs and general API integration workflows.
- Hands-on experience with AWS (basic permissions, networking, serverless, containers).
- Comfortable building internal tools, scripts, or dashboards for automation.
- English at lease at B2 level.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools (Claude, Cursor, Copilot) for faster task delivery.
- Curious, self-motivated mindset with a desire to learn and own projects end-to-end.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience with OpenAPI/Swagger or GraphQL.
- Knowledge of contract testing and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, and basic observability setups.
Tech Stack:
- Cloud/Runtime: AWS, containers, ECS/Kubernetes, CloudFormation -> Terrraform.
- Langs: TypeScript, Python.
- APIs: RESTAPI, GraphQL.
- Obs: Prometheus/Grafana.
Developer Experience Engineer – What is in it for you?
- Competitive salary: 11,000 – 14,000 PLN/month on B2B contract.
- 30 days of paid vacations per year.
- Unlimited paid sick leave (used responsibly).
- Flexible working hours.
- 100% remote setup.
- Budget for courses, conferences, and self-development.
- Opportunity to receive work devices if needed.
