Itentio IT Recruitment
We are partnered with a rapidly growing UK-based fintech company building next-generation digital solutions for trade and supply chain finance. Their mission is to close the global trade finance gap by enabling mid-market businesses in emerging markets to access transparent, secure, and efficient cross-border funding. They are now seeking a Business Analyst to bridge business needs, banking partners, and engineering.
Whom are we looking for – Business Analyst
Location: Remote (Europe)
About the Company and the Position
Our client is a UK-based fintech company working at the core of open account trade finance and SCF. They build a platform that lets banks and NBFIs manage multiple financing products in one system, automate manual and repetitive processes, and design custom products and workflows for their own clients. Alongside the technology, they provide capital and domain expertise, so they work closely with financial institutions, corporates, and funders across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and other emerging markets.
We are looking for a hands-on Business Analyst to sit between Product, Engineering, and external banking partners. You will turn complex trade finance workflows into clear requirements, process flows, and integration specifications, and work directly with the CPO and CTO to shape how the platform evolves. This is a high-ownership role in a product environment, ideal for someone who takes initiative and doesn’t wait to be told what to do next.
Why is it worth joining this company?
- Work on a real product powering high-value cross-border financial operations, with real influence on product decisions
- Startup pace with a clear mission and strong market traction
- A culture that values curiosity, ownership, and autonomy
- Competitive compensation and long-term development opportunities
Business Analyst – Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for trade and supply chain finance products (e.g., receivables and payables finance, distributor finance, invoice processing, funding and credit decisions)
- Design and maintain process flows, user flows, and functional specifications that engineering can build from
- Analyze and specify integrations with banks and financial partners (APIs, core banking and ERP connections, payment flows, reconciliation, data exchange)
- Help clients configure and adapt products and workflows to their specific operating models
- Work with Product and Engineering to break initiatives into clear, prioritized, well-defined tasks
- Communicate directly with banking partners and client stakeholders, translating between business and technical language
- Identify gaps, risks, and edge cases in processes, including compliance and operational considerations
- Support QA and UAT by defining acceptance criteria and validating delivered features
- Proactively suggest improvements to products and processes, not just document existing ones
Business Analyst – Main requirements
- 3 years of professional experience as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or in a similar role
- Mandatory background in banking or FinTech; candidates without hands-on experience in financial products will not be considered
- Proven ability to create clear process flows and functional documentation (BPMN, flowcharts, user stories, etc.)
- Strong analytical thinking and a structured, practical approach to problem-solving
- English – fluent, with experience communicating with banks or financial institutions
- Proactive, hardworking mindset with a track record of taking initiative
- Experience in a startup or product company environment – very nice to have
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience in trade finance or supply chain finance (open account, receivables finance, payables finance, distributor finance)
- Hands-on experience with banking integrations (APIs, core banking systems, payment systems, SWIFT/SEPA, open banking)
- Technical background, e.g., former software engineer, or comfortable discussing architecture with developers
- Experience with SaaS or platform products used by financial institutions
- Familiarity with compliance topics: KYC/KYB, AML, audit trails
Business Analyst – What is in it for you?
- Competitive salary: 4000 – 5500 USD/month on B2B contract.
- 30 days of paid vacations per year.
- Unlimited paid sick leave (used responsibly).
- Flexible working hours.
- 100% remote setup.
- Budget for courses, conferences, and self-development.
- Opportunity to receive work devices if needed.
